A Designer cut or color appointment is about creating a hair style that feels like an extension of who you are and how you want to present yourself to the world.

“Designer” is our word to describe a completely customized experience where your stylist will design your hair color and/or cut to match your personality, facial features, hair texture, skin tone, style vibe and preferences.

Although we do constantly train on the latest industry trends, the Designer Experience is not reliant on imitating what is trending on social media. The process is simple--

we review your inspo pics,

ask a series of essential questions,

and then

present you with a couple "slam dunk" options designed to further define your personal style!

The Parlour Process

Help us learn about you and your hair goals. Quiz results will recommend next steps for booking and and match you with a stylist who is a good fit.

Step 2:

Book Your New Client Consultation*

A consultation is reserved time for you and your stylist to get to know each other and schedule your first hair appointment. Each stylist offers different ways to connect including video consult, email, or in-person.

Step 3:

Meet Your Stylist

Your stylist wants to see your hair, ask specific questions, and may assemble a customized Detox Kit to help you prep your hair for your upcoming appointment.

*Consultations are typically paid, 1:1 sessions. A $50 Consult Fee is required at time of booking for Color, Curly Cut, and Formal Styling Services.

*New Guest Appointments are announced/released to the New Client VIP Waitlist mailing list the first week of each month, 3 days prior to announcing on social media.

*New Guest Appointment availability is limited each month and may not be offered on months with less bookable hours
(ie. major holiday season, vacation season, maternity leave, etc)

New Guest VIP List

We have a new guest waitlist which is also referred to as the New Guest VIP List. Sign up for email and/or text notifications on our New Client Booking Page.

New guests who have already been seen for their New Client Consultation may request to be placed on the Cancellation List for Regular Guests.

Regular Guest Waitlist

We also have a regular guest waitlist reserved for guests who need to reschedule due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. Life happens. It is our top priority to get loyal guests a rescheduled appointment as soon as possible!

Why do we require a CONSULTATION for New Curl, New Color, and Bridal requests?

This is your chance to get to know us and our chance to get to know you.
If we are/are not a good fit for each other we narrow that down right away.
We want to see, touch, feel your hair and make any recommendations regarding how you can start preparing it BEFORE your appointment.
We reserve the right to decline services at any time, if we do not feel that we can serve you well as future client or if you are resistant to our professional advice/directions.

How long is the wait to book an appointment?

It varies with each stylist depending on their availability and the demand for their services. We encourage our returning guests to re-book at the end of each appointment. We maintain a VERY active Regular Guest Waitlist used exclusively for returning guests who may have gotten off cycle due to unforeseen circumstances.

For New Guests, you will be booked about 2-4 weeks after your New Client Consult is complete. Consults are released the last week of each month but can be booked on a rolling basis if any remain unbooked after the monthly release. There are usually about 30+ people actively trying to book 4 New Client openings each month. Those who sign up for the New Guest VIP List tend to respond and get in faster. How long does a NEW CLIENT CURLY DRY CUT take?

How do I prepare for my Curly Cuts?

In general for any CURLY DRY CUT, we need to be able to get our hands through it in order to cut it.

For Wavy and Classic Curlies:
- Clean, Day 1 or Day 2 curls that still have spring and are not overly stretched out are ideal.
- In general, please come to your consultation with your hair set/parted as you would normally wear it.
- Curls need to be DRY, down, and the tightest version of the way you wear your curls.
- Curls need to be free of any heavy products or oils. Light gel or cream is OK.

For Tight Curls, Coily, Tight Wavy, or Fractal (aka Kinky):
- Day 2,3, or 4 curls are acceptable
- Curls must be pre-detangled (not matted)... Why? Intensive sink detangling adds time, which in turn adds unnecessary price increases.
- Curls must be free of heavy oils & creams

Budget to purchase and take home some products, as we may make some recommendations at your consult and/or at your hair cut appointment.

How do I prepare for my Color Appointment?

We ask that you come prepares with clean, dry hair. A very light product application is OK.

For all hair types:
It is ideal to do a deep cleanse using a clarifying or “detoxifying” shampoo a day or 2 before you get a color. This will improve how long the color lasts.

For Curly Hair Getting Dimensional Color:
Shampoo as directed above.
WEAR YOUR HAIR styled curly or blown out based on the
way you predominantly want to wear your hair.

WHY?
Dimensional color placement (a variety of shades on the same head) is based on the movement and growth patterns of the hair. We want it to look it’s best when you
style. So, for example, if you want the look of melty, seamless highlights on blown-out waves, DO NOT come in with your tightest curls that day. In this example, you
would wear your hair somewhat smoothed out so we can properly place your color to look good on smoothed out hair.
